Why uniqueness exists

uniqueness is built and run by Janit Singh, a sole proprietor in Pune, Maharashtra, India. Not a team, not a startup with a floor of people — one person, which is why the support replies come from a human and why the roadmap is short and honest.

What this thing believes about captions

Captions are timing, not text. Most tools give you a block of words that appears and disappears on a rough schedule. uniqueness locks every individual word to the moment it is actually spoken, and the caption lands on the beat because it knows where the beat is. That is the whole product in one sentence.

Hinglish is a real language, not a bug. Speak a Hindi-English mix into most caption tools and you get either nonsense or a wall of Devanagari that nobody types in a comment. uniqueness romanizes Hindi into the Hinglish you would actually write, then runs a spelling pass over it so it reads naturally rather than phonetically.

Say what the software does, plainly. Your clip is uploaded — we say so on the homepage, in the FAQ and in the privacy policy, because the alternative is a comforting sentence that is not true. It is deleted within 24 hours, and that is enforced in code, not just promised in a policy.

The free tier should be usable. Three minutes, every caption style unlocked, real exports. Enough to caption something you would genuinely post and find out whether this is for you, before any card comes out.

Where it is going

Short list, honestly held: better Hinglish spelling, more caption styles, and native panels for Premiere and Resolve. Everything already listed on Export & workflow works today without them.
